Tonight is the first night of Chanuka, and I’ve been busy making latkes nearly all day long. We’ll be lighting the candles and stuffing ourselves silly in a little while, so I just want to leave a quick note to wish everyone who celebrates it a very happy Chanuka. And all my best to everyone for a safe and enjoyable holiday season!

Beautiful! Happy Chanuka, Rachel, to you, Ashlynne and Bob!
Thanks, Isabel! I was just thinking about the year that your eldest learned about Chanuka at school and came home insisting that you celebrate it! I remember that you got a menorah and candles and said the blessings. I’ve always loved that!
mmm, latkes.
see, another reason to move to VT.
Happy Chanuka!
Yes! We have latkes in Vermont! What’s not to like?
Happy Chanuka, Rachel!
What beautiful lamps in the photo… my experience is admittedly limited, but that’s the first time I’ve seen the menorah presented quite that way.
Thank you, JoyMama! The menorah in the photo is very unusual. I found it in a free box after a tag sale. A couple of lamps were broken, but I repaired them, and the menorah looks as good as new! It’s such a lovely one that I actually keep it out all year round, while all of our other menorahs get packed up in the garage.
Happy Chanuka, Rachel!
Thank you, Casdok. Hope you’re having an enjoyable season, too!
